“The Fun Of It All !”
We’ve featured the amazing work of Daniel Stoupin before with his short film showing coral in motion called Slow Life. Here he records some of the many creatures hidden in an ordinary pond. Things such as water mites, jumping hydras, bryozoans, mayfly nymphs and ostracods, all living creatures normally hidden from our limited sight. The Hidden Life of Pond Water is his newest film.
This video uses images that I made through a biological microscope and macro lenses. I believe that macro work added more depth and allows seeing whole animals in a more natural environment. The average size of the animals filmed was less than 1 mm.
